NMFA Calls for Military Family Priorities in FY27 NDAA

In a Sept. 17 letter to the Armed Services leaders, NMFA backed House provisions on TRICARE fertility/IVF coverage, a pilot treating pregnancy as a TRICARE Select qualifying life event (Sec. 758) and infant/toddler child care grants, plus Senate provisions for a TRICARE access-problem reporting system, standardized child care data, and stronger privatized-housing health and safety standards and inspections.

IFPTE urged HASC and SASC leaders to keep in the final FY27 NDAA House Sec. 1115 (limit on funds to limit collective bargaining), Senate Sec. 815 (capital distributions limits for defense contractors), the full SHIPS for America Act (Title 36 of H.R. 8800), and the public-shipyard hiring freeze and RIF prohibitions (H.R. 8800 Sec. 1121 and 1116; S. 4784 Sec. 1106 and 1107). It asked them to drop S. 4784 Secs. 1101–1102 (prevailing rate and job grading for the defense industrial base) and H.R. 8800 Sec. 1105 (eliminating Title 32 dual-status military technician authority).
